Vida Hotels and Resorts, downtown Dubai

This morning we enjoyed our first meeting of the day at the new Vida, by Vida Hotels and Resorts Emaar, located in downtown Dubai. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shinning and we were greeted with a friendly: “Good morning and welcome to Vida” on arrival.

The gentleman who greeted us was one of four valet associates dressed in black trousers and a black t-shirt, with THE VALET printed on it, in white. As he opened the door, assisted in getting out of the car and handed over a paper ticket with a smile, we were assured that he would take good care of the car and let him drive off with it. He smiled at us again, took a seat and left.

On the first glance the hotel did not look very busy, but while waiting for our meeting and observing what was going on, we regularly found guests checking in and out. All guests were dressed smart – casually and  looked like young to mid – age entrepreneurs or jet setters. The right clientele for a super stylish and modern boutique hotel like Vida.

Guests’ outfits did not only match the cool design of the hotel, but also the fancy Machintosh computers the front office associates used to check in guests, look up information and issue room keys. We counted five of those in the lobby only. Curious what the rest of the hotel would look like, we wondered around for a while to take pictures and meet more associates.

A young gentleman working at the front office – he looked Eastern European – assured us that he would take care of our belongings and that the handbags were safe with him in the lobby. As we did not initially ask him to watch out for the bags, we were quite impressed with the gentleman’s assertiveness, observations and attention the details.

Coffee lounge

While walking around we discovered that at the back side of the lobby, guests have a dedicated coffee lounge area with an outdoor  terrace facing the Burj Khalifa and The Address Downtown. Obviously we held our meeting outside, once we knew about the terrace. The meeting turned out to be less business related but more of a lovely chat between two people working in the same industry, and if it was up to us, it could have being going on much longer than it actually did. The atmosphere was lovely, the weather great, the terrace and it’s view stunning and the service – first class.

Cornelia, a young, pretty European lady took our morning coffee order after welcoming us at Vida. She then served the coffee minutes later only and came again to check if we needed anything else. Her way of dealing with us felt very humble and elegant and made us even more relaxed than we were initially. She also saw our valet ticket on the table and stamped the same for us, so we did not have to worry about it later. Another reason for us not wanting to leave this morning.

All in all, we were quite impressed with Vida Hotels and Resorts and we will definitely come back for lunch or dinner one day in near future.

Thank you for making our start into the day so relaxing and comfortable.

Keep exploring,
