Good morning everyone! We hope you had a great start into the week and a lovely weekend! When was the last time you went shopping? How is your general shopping experience? Shopping, especially in Dubai, is not only related to pleasure – it is related to stress sometimes. Unlike in Europe, shopping in the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf States it is an adventure. It starts with looking for parking space in a mall (which are to be avoided on Fridays, especially!) and continues with long sprints through a jungle of people, noise and an overload of information or offers before you even get the chance to look for a new pair of trousers, a decent shirt or dress.
What about online shopping? Online shopping allows you to choose what you want, does not require you to leave the house – can be done at anytime, anywhere where you have wifi. The downside? You cannot put on clothes to see if they fit; this is why you should be aware of the distributor’s return policy before you ”check-out”.
I recently shopped at Namshi.com. The online store features endless brands for men, women, and kids and updates it’s collection and offers regularly. Namshi is represented in: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. Shoppers can download the Namshi.com app or simply browse around on the provider’s website. As said, online shopping is an easy and convenient way to spend money.
I usually have a look at the most recent collections on the app, choose a few items and then wait for a day to two before I decide what I will spend my money on. Why? Because online shopping makes you go wild sometimes – it is simple and fast and a few clicks here and there can easily turn out to be worth hundreds of Dirhams within a few minutes.
My latest and final order included: a pair of shoes, two dresses and a pair of Swarovski earrings. I got excited the moment I ”checked-out” (paid) and waited patiently. Namshi usually takes 48 hours for your order to arrive. The order can be tracked online and you receive a confirmation e-mail with all purchased items listed, and a thank you note from Namshi’s customer service team. The dresses and earrings were great, the shoes were too small. Again, each purchase channel has its ups and downs.
Namshi claims to have a free return policy – and their policy rocks! I sent an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org stating that the shoes which were part of my most recent order do not fit and need to be returned. My e-mail was sent on Saturday 9pm and I received a personalized answer within minutes:
Hello Sofie,Thank you for contacting Namshi.com.Your return request is now under process for the item “Truffle Studded Pointy Toe Pumps”.We will inform our courier to pick up the item from your doorstep within 2 working days. We won’t keep you waiting!
WOW! It was not only the response time which made me happy, it was the actual answer and effort of the customer service representative who logged into my profile to see the actual item’s name and informed me about the next steps. A designated driver would arrive within the next 48 hours (anywhere in Dubai) and will take the shoes back for free. In return, I will have the choice to either keep the spent amount on my Namshi.com account as a credit or ask for a money transfer. Having the option is great, as a wrong purchase order does not require the customer to keep shopping with the provider over and over again, just to ”get the money back”! In the case that you feel like ”talking to someone” right away, Namshi furthermore, offers a 24 hours service hotline and a customer service life chat on their website! Namshi.com is easy, fast and personalized – this is why I keep coming back!
I had a great experience with Namshi.com and simply had to blog about this. Online shopping sometimes goes terribly wrong, and if, customers are satisfied, one has to spend a few minutes sharing positive experiences too! Well done to Rendade from Namshi.com – you made our weekend!
Thank you, SE
