Mercure City Center, Abu Dhabi
Wow and a big THANK YOU for the fantastic service at the Mercure City Center Abu Dhabi. On another job related occasion we were sent to the capital of the United Arab Emirates for one exciting week of training. We arrived on Saturday night and checked in the hotel around 9 pm. On arrival we found out that the hotel does neither offer a valet parking service nor a proper parking space and were a bit confused of where to park our car over the next five days.
We decided to check in first and ask the bell – boy for further assistance. The check in took minutes only and the bell – boy jumped into our car and guided us to the public parking space nearby the hotel. He then assisted us in getting a parking ticket valid for 24 hours (15 AED per day) and helped us with the luggage. He accompanied us up to the room and informed us about the pool and gym timings as well as about the different restaurants and room service options in the hotel. He wished us a good evening and rest and left.
What a nice welcome. The room itself was most probably one of the least modern and smallest rooms we ever staid in, in the last 4 years, however it was comfortable and cozy and everything a tired trainer could wish for before an exciting 5 days course.
Our next day started at 5 am with a friendly and personalized wake – up call from the lady at the reception. She called right on time and wished us a good morning. She further mentioned to let her know if we needed any further assistance at any time. The start into the morning kept us on a high through out the entire day.
When we came back to the hotel in the afternoon, the bell – boy whom we met the night before welcomed us with a smile and double checked if we needed any further assistance in regards to the car. We thanked him, changed some money at the reception and went to the pool.
The Mercure City Center hotel might not be the most modern hotel property in town, however it is by far the one with the most friendly and attentive service we experienced in a long time.
Regardless if the service staff at the reception, pool or restaurant, everyone was friendly and in a constant and contagious good mood.
