Memsaab – Indian cuisine in Dubai
Good morning to all if you.
It is early but only the early bird catches the worm and this is why I want to share yesterday’s lunch experience with you. Working in the heart of Jumeirah Lakes Towers, one of our team members took us out for a quick ladies- lunch -outing at Memsaab. We arrived just after 1pm and found the small restaurant empty. We were about 9 of us and starving, ready to explore another hidden treasure of Dubai, featuring Indian cuisine.
Up on entering the place we were greeted nicely and with a smile by one out of three young men working there. He opened the door, welcomed us and offered to put together three tables for us to sit together more comfortably. In total the place offered six tables only but the carefully chosen decoration was unique. Boxes of different spices decorated the walls on one side, black and white photographs the other wall. Tables and table sets were chosen to match the decor and a unique style of lamps light the room. However the highlight was a huge wooden table right in the center, which was a display of Indian jewelry protected by glass.
We were offered a complimentary shot of mint juice to refresh ourselves and handed over the menus. The friendly waiter suggested to order mains to share, and so we did. The usual Indian specialities, Biryani, Dal and butter chicken with Naan. The food arrived within 10 minutes only and right after we started to dig in, our waiter approached to ask if everything was okay. It was perfect. The food was delicious, the restaurant’s decor unique and the service assertive, friendly and came from the heart. A must go for anyone who lives or works around Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Cluster J. We were impressed by the young man’s way to recommend dishes, his way to check on us and his constant smile. We will be back.
Thank you Memsaab!
Two thumbs up!
