It had been the talk of the town – Little Bankok. Walking passed one of the outlets in the Dubai Media City, Business Towers for so many times, we always had Little Bankok on our bucket list.
We did not try their outlet itself, but ordered in some food last week. Many of our friends told us about the restaurant already and we planned to have a couples – date there for quite a while. As all of us were travelling this summer however, our couples date turned into a lazy-sofa dinner at home. We were excited to order in again and were surprised by the calm, friendly and welcoming voice of the lady who attended our call. She took up our details first and then moved on to noting down our dinner order.
We ordered Dim Sum, their famous green and yellow curry, prawn crackers and some vegetable spring rolls. The lady on the phone repeated our order and informed us that it would take up to 45 minutes for our food to arrive.
We were looking forward to finally try their food and kept ourselves busy cleaning the house and laying the dinner table while waiting. We waited and waited, for more than an hour almost.
We called them to follow up on our order and the lady informed us that the food was on it’s way. Minutes after the delivery man knocked on our door. When preparing our plates, we found that the food was cold already and the prawn crackers were missing. We did not mind about the crackers too much to be honest as the food portions were quite big anyways and started tasting our curries. Having heard so many positive things about their unique ways of preparing Thai food, we were a bit disappointed once we finally tried it. The curry was fine, but nothing extraordinary and the Dim Sums were a bit tasteless. A pinch of salt did the job and we nearly ate up our plates.
The food experience was not as great as expected and did not meet our expectations to be honest, the lady on the phone and her kind service however left a great taste behind and made us decide to actually visit one of their outlets soon to get the real Little Bankok – experience.
We will keep you up to date,
