Just after Christmas, we went to spend some time in one of Europe’s most beautiful Cities- Vienna, Austria.
Famous for all the nice wineries and traditional restaurants, now and then you discover places which are out of the norm and offer something different!
‘Le Troquet’ in the 6th district of Vienna, Kirchengasse is one of this different places. The name is French, the food is French, the service relaxed, chilled out and easy!
Waiters are in black, however wear no uniform, walk around in trainers, show off their tattoos and crazy hair styles! But this is what makes this place unique, as the service style reflects everywhere, in the food creations, background music and menu design. No menu cover looks like the other – see the pictures attached!
The food is quite easy and tasty as well, the Croque Camembert Toast is not the most healthiest option but filling and very French.
The service, well as said, different is the only word to describe it. Drink orders take a bit long, food comes quick, but we expected this when we entered and to be very honest it does not always have to be white table cloth and a gourmet chef preparing a festive meal to leave a good impression!
The Bad: it can get very packed during the evening and very smoky.
The Good: the place is hip, unique and a hotspot for anyone looking for alternative places to hang out in Vienna!!
