Crumbs Elysée, Dubai

Good morning to all of you! We hope you are well. As the weekend is approaching us in huge steps, we thought of sharing our latest breakfast experience with you – Crumbs Elysée aka, Crumbs. The restaurant in located on Sheikh Zayed Road and available from 6 am to 9 pm daily.

Why is that important to know? Because we found that this bistro is one of the most comfortable places to spend hours of reading, eating and socializing on the weekend. A very European approach of enjoying a day off you would think? You are right. We even took along our laptop and books to make use of the time our stomach needed to digest and make some room for more food, and literately did not realize we spent 3 hours at Crumbs. It is a place for people like us to linger and pause.

Crumbs is is a bistro and café, offering exquisite french pastries and cakes as well as a vast array of french and continental inspired cuisine in a stylish setting. On Fridays the place offers an extensive breakfast buffet serving eggs, backed beans, apple crumble, boiled vegetables, sandwiches and fresh fruits. Simply anything one would wish for on the weekend.

The café is part of the illustrious Reem al Bawadi Group. The Group is renowned in Dubai for its stylish restaurants & café and high quality food and Sheesha. We did not find the Sheesha, but fully agree on the quality of food and the pretentious kitsch that made the place look super unique and cute.

Not only the little chef welcomed us with a smile up on entering the place, but also the restaurant’s manager greeted us in a friendly manner and showed us around his place. He informed us about the great breakfast brunch offer (buffet and a cup of tea for 160 AED only) showed us the home-made cakes and offered us a cozy spot in the corner.

Seconds later, his colleague approached us to hand over the menu, offer hot beverages and to wish us a great start into the day. We spent some time checking out the place, taking pictures and filling up our first breakfast plate, while the waitress already served our beverages and set up our table accordingly.

The food tasted great, the service was spot on and we felt like the staff would anticipate any of our wishes in no time. As said, we did not realize how quickly the time passed and how much we ate.

The background music and the dimmed lights were only disturbed by the innocent laughter of little kids playing around, which contributed well to the overall atmosphere. The audience on that day consisted out of young couples, families and single mothers who looked like they needed a break to relax and come down.

In general, the café offers in- and outdoor seating, we however went for the indoor option not to miss any detail of the decor and ambiance. It was great.

Just as we were thinking about throwing our next get-together here, we took some time to insect the bathrooms. The gents’ rooms were clean and great apparently, the ladies however was not. The sanitary areas, just like the rest of the café’s flooring need a little bit of a remake and clean up. Was is bad, no not at all, it was very hygienic.

Having said that, a little bit of make-up would do good to a lot of places we recently reviewed in this city. It just contributes so much to the overall impression guests get while experiencing great food and superb service.

The team of Crumbs is spot on, and we want to thank them for their professional hospitality last weekend.

Looking forward to seeing you soon again,
