Bamboo Lagoon Bruch – JW Marriott, Deira
What a fantastic start into the weekend at Bamboo Lagoon, in JW Marriott in Deira.
Not the first choice to be very honest, as Deira to some of us seemed the be at the end of the world, however absolutely worth the taxi ride to enjoy the Bamboo Lagoon Brunch.
The brunch offer is 350 AED inclusive of selected wine, beer and spirits and is a combination of 3 different restaurants. The Bamboo Lagoon itself, where a taste of Far Eastern and fusion cuisine meets the exotic. The restaurant is designed in a scattering of huts, bridges and waterways, rushing waterfalls, and fish ponds. The Hofbraeuhaus, a German cuisine restaurant offering a huge variety of traditional, heavy food such as crispy pork belly, dumplings, Sauerkraut and potato salad. And last but not least, The Market Place, an International restaurant where various Chefs show their talents and passion for cooking at their life stations, preparing everything from fresh pasta to lamb chops and Chicken Tikka Masala. Followed by a huge desert buffet built around a fountain and a moderate selection of cheese, the combination of three outlets is amazing.
For younger guests, JW Marriott even provided a huge open space playground in the foyer of the hotel. Air castle for kids to jump around, playgrounds, and a mouthwatering buffet with pizza, pasta, chicken nuggets as well as popcorn machine. A great effort for Marriott’s little guests!
The offer in terms of food was amazing as said before. Sushi, duck rolls, dim sum, Sauerkraut and fresh grilled fish or lamb chops – spread out in three restaurants and displayed on countless buffets. The overall set-up and food presentation looked just mouthwatering and tasted amazing. While sitting in Bamboo Lagoon and enjoying bite after bite, a life band played along from tome to time. The two ladies were dressed up in super sexy costumes and the gentleman on the guitar rocked the house. As part of their life entertainment, the group performed their famous “Hakka Dance”. A simple traditional dance, where they invite guests to dance along with them!
For one guest, it was his birthday, the band came to our table with a lovely chocolate cake, singing Happy Birthday and wishing him best of luck personally. A very nice gesture and nice touch.
Enough about the food and life entertainment, let’s share the service experience.
It was just perfect! Up on arrival we were greeted by too young ladies, one dressed up in a authentic, German Dirndl (National Dress) and one in a very colorful Indonesian dress. We were offered a glass of sparkling wine and escorted to the table.
The overall service was outstanding. Everyone from waiters to Chefs to supervisors and managers was smiling, friendly and very hospitable. Tables were cleared within seconds, and drinks were served within minutes. I have to admit all of them were very attentive and you could tell that they actually enjoy their job. Attention to detail? YES! Quality of Service? Top!
A really enjoyable and relaxed brunch with fun life entertainment!
Did we dance the “Hakka”? No, not this time, but we will come back and dance along next time!
The Good: overall service was top quality, and the food was just fantastic. Two thumbs up for Duck Roll and Sauerkraut!
The Bad: The hotel, is located very far from Down Town or Dubai Marina, and it takes quite long to reach there by taxi. But it is worth it!
Have a great weekend everyone!
